• NRRM Regional Economic Strategy Surveys: 12/11/2018

    The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality has issued the following press release regarding the development of a regional economic strategy.  They are seeking input from citizens and businesses through meetings and two surveys.  Businesses will be invited to participate in a business survey through an email from the NRRM.  If you don't recieve an invitation please contact the NRRM at 250-774-2541.  

    The community survey is availalbe online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/nrrmcom.  Please encourage employees, coworkers, customer, etc to participate.  Paper copies of the survey can be picked up at the Town Office or Recreation Centre front desk.

    Northern Rockies Regional Economic Strategy: Your Input Matters
    In a proactive move to stabilize, rejuvenate, diversify and grow a sustainable future, the Northern Rockies has engaged in a project to create a Regional Economic Strategy. The development of the Strategy is guided by the idea that “none of us is as smart as all of us” and will rely heavily on public engagement to get the job done.
     
    To this end the NRRM will be holding a series of Focus Groups and Workshops, and will be looking to residents and businesses to share their understanding of the region’s capacities and needs to guide the process. Activities in support of the project will be held across the region including Toad River and Muncho Lake.
     
    The first opportunity for the public to provide direct input into the plan will be an Economic Survey which goes online today. It asks for respondent’s views on the community itself and their understanding of economic development, as well as raising points about employment, training and their links to the region. The survey allows residents to respond anonymously and can be accessed at:

    For those who prefer to complete the Community Survey in another form, it is also available in print. Hardcopies of the document can be picked up and dropped off at the Municipal Office or the Customer Service Desk at the Northern Rockies Regional Recreation Centre, and it will be distributed through the post office and the Fort Nelson News as well. Anyone needing to make other arrangements can do so using the contact information below.
     
    Once completed and adopted, the Regional Economic Strategy will guide the efforts of the Regional Municipality in the pursuit of greater prosperity for those who live and work in our part of the world. The more and better the information gathered in its creation, the better the outcome will be.
