The Employers' Advisers Office provides advice, assistance, representation, and
educational services on all aspects of the workers' compensation system.
EAO Talks - Relief of Costs
Our next virtual EAO Talk is scheduled for March 19, 2026, at 10am.
When a worker has a pre-existing disease, condition, or disability, employers may be eligible to have a portion of the claim costs removed from their WorkSafeBC account. This process, known as Relief of Costs under section 240(1)(d) of the Workers Compensation Act (ROC), can affect an employer’s experience rating and premium assessment. Join us for this live EAO Talk to learn more about:
- When ROC applies
- How WorkSafeBC determines the amount of ROC
- Tips for employers and appeal options
- Other forms of cost relief
Note: No certificates will be issued for this session. This session was first presented in December 2025.
