A few weeks ago the Fort Nelson Chamber along with other Chambers across the country and the Canadian Chamber wrote to the Finance Minister to oppose the government's proposal to tax employer-sponsored health and dental benefit plans. In addition to hundreds or thousands of dollars that would be added to Canadians' tax bills, it also could have meant that many employers could no longer provide coverage to employees.  We asked that you also write the Government of Canada.

Yesterday in the House of Commons, the Prime Minister said the government will not be moving forward with the tax. Our message has gotten through that this was a bad idea that would harm middle class Canadians.

Thank you for being part of this initiative. The Canadian Chamber network has a powerful voice when we all work together.
