Wednesday, February the 19th was a special night for Fort Nelson. Hosted at the Phoenix Theatre, the annual Fort Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Excellence Awards gave the local community a chance to come together in celebration of businesses and individuals who went above and beyond to make a difference in the past year. The Chamber was honoured to present ten awards to a field of over fifty nominees.
This year's recipients are:
- Athlete of the Year: Streeper Kennels
- Business of the Year: Gearheads Truck Repair
- Community Leader Award: Northern Environmental Action Team (NEAT)
- Customer Service Excellence: Mitchell Tofte
- Educator of the Year: David Johnstone
- Employer of the Year: Gearheads Truck Repair
- Entrepreneur of the Year: Noes to Toes Esthetics
- Public Services Award: Anne "Stevie" Stevenson
- Volunteer of the Year: Mike Carleton
- Youth Award: Angela Roberts
