HOUSINGStaffing the growing resource industries in Northeast BC comes with the increasinly urgent problem of finding suitable housing for these workers and for others in the region. A series of public forums to discuss key housing issues and generate community based solutions are scheduled for Northeast BC. Eight local communities, in partnership with the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroluem Resources, the BC Office of Housing and Construction Standards and BC Housing, are hosting the events. The forums will be divided into two parts. First, there will be a presentation and discussion of emerging housing issues particular to each host community. Second, there will be a series of small group discussions to brainstrom possible ideas and soutions that could work for each community.

Fall and winter quickly approaches, so we are calling all you avid walkers to the Recreation Centre if you wish to continue with your fitness regime for the colder seasons. We will be opening the Community Hall from Monday to Friday, 6:30 - 8:30 am, starting October 3, 2005. Clean indoor footwear is required. So bring a friend and we'll see you there. If the Hall is not available, walkers may use the Lobby.
