CFDC offers workshops on several topics to assist small businesses and provides an online resource, Business Edge, for rural communities. Offices are in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. SciTech North www.scitechnorth.bc.ca SciTech North offers workshops such as: How to Raise Early-Stage Capital, Implementing Your Business Plan, and Business Etiquette. SciTech North is developing a mentoring program for new businesses. North Peace Economic Development Commission www.npedc.ca A joint venture between Fort St. John, Taylor, and Hudson’s Hope, their goal is to encourage economic development projects in the North Peace Region. Past workshops include “Exporting Business” and “2010 Strategies”. Northeast Aboriginal Business Centre www.aborignialbusinesscentre.com The NEABC, based in Fort St. John, helps aboriginal businesses seeking to establish themselves. Based in Dawson Creek, the agency helps entrepreneurs establish their business by providing basic business workshops. Their E-Growth project, Enterprise Online, provides additional assistance. Export North www.initiativespg.com/ipg/exportnorth/ Export North helps northern businesses develop their export potential. Based in Prince George, they arrange training in areas related to international trade. |
